14.1 th…Post…Eakins…DNA…Search

I have started my lineage search for members of  Thomas Eakins family.  The first step was to join   Ancestry.com. Several weeks ago I made the move.  At first it seemed a little daunting.  But I fooled around a little to get the feel of  the program.  It wasn’t too bad.  I tried some moves and then took a break to digest the strategy.   I am still learning. It wasn’t too long until things happened.  Since then I have spoken with three members of his extended family.  I have meet and had lunch with two members of his family.  The two members that I meet were very nice and cordial.  They like and are supportive of what I am doing.  I will not mentioned their names nor their whereabouts.  Maybe in the future but only with their approval. However, I have additional leads that I am working .  I will try to keep my readers current….dan

 Feb. 10, 2014:  UPDATE

One member of Thomas Eakins extended family provided a DNA sample.  At our meeting I was accompanied  by my wife, Kathleen,  and Roberta Ginsburg the CEO of CONNECT DNA located in Phila. PA.  It  seemed everything went well.

A later meeting with Roberta Ginsburg at my home in Phila. forensic samples  were taken from the back of  The Last Supper painting.  It was all video recorded.  That meeting went well.  However the DNA Laboratory doing the analysis reported NO  VIABLE  DNA found on their sample.    That information was very disappointing  to say the least.

However, all is not lost.   When Roberts Ginsburg retrieved the sample at our  meeting at my home, she at that time retrieved two samples.  She does this in the event something  unexpected  occurs.  Smart move.  This will be sent to another laboratory for analysis..  I am hoping for positive results.  I will give an update when it occurs. ….dan
